Energy storage capacity skyrockets in seven years, says trade body

The development of energy storage capacity, including hydro, has grown from two megawatts in 2012, to a little over 6.8 gigawatts in 2018, according to the trade body RenewableUK.

This figure is derived  from the 350 storage projects that are either in operation, under development or where there are planning applications, according to RenewableUK’s data.
