A government-commissioned review has called for  for wide-ranging reforms to the way waste crime is combated in England, warning that the Environment Agency (EA) lacks the clout to tackle the issue effectively.

The Serious & Organised Waste Crime Review, published yesterday, found that waste crime has significant economic impacts, with some estimating the cost at £1bn in England each year alone.
