ENDS at 40: A cleaner, greener Britain, but tougher tests lie ahead

Looking at environmental trends over the past 40 years, it’s difficult not to conclude that significant progress has been made. When ENDS launched in 1978, the UK’s carbon emissions were at around their peak and coal generation at its height. The UK was known as the “dirty man of Europe”, with good reason.
