The government’s policy framework for expansion at Heathrow airport could be reviewed against a net-zero carbon emissions target, a minister has said.

Energy minister Claire Perry said the Airports National Policy Statement could be reviewed if “it is appropriate” under Section 6 of the Planning Act 2008 to ensure it falls in line with a proposed 2050 net-zero emissions target.
