The firm behind plans to build a housing development in a scenic part of East Sussex has halted its planning appeal.

Denton Homes applied to construct 42 homes in the largely medieval village of Burwash, which lies within the High Weald area of outstanding natural beauty (AONB), is adjacent to ancient woodland and has an unusual concentration of listed buildings. Despite planning officers backing the scheme, Rother District Council refused to grant approval in October last year.
