The Environment Agency (EA) has approved a fire prevention plan (FPP) that for the first time allows a wood recycling firm to stack wood up to eight metres high.

UK Wood Recycling Ltd has been working with the EA for the past three years to achieve the non-standard FPP, which allows the stack height assuming a number of other specific additional measures are in place on the site. Stacks of of up to four metres are allowed under a standard plan.
