A developer has pledged to slash the number of houses it plans to build in a nightingale haven and site of special scientific interest (SSSI), following objections from local and green groups.

Homes England, the national housing and regeneration agency for England, said yesterday it will cut the amount of homes it wants to build at Lodge Hill by three quarters to 500 homes.
