What sort of roles are available in standards development?

Anyone can be nominated by a relevant trade association, a  non-governmental organisation or an institute to be a member of a British Standards Institution (BSI) committee. Nominations are not from specific companies; it’s always one step removed from that.

If you are a UK nomination to an International Organization for Standardization (ISO) working group – a group working on a standard – you act as an expert in your own personal capacity with guidance from your colleagues on the BSI committee that follows the work.
