Distribution network operators redefined for smart grid era

A new definition for distribution network operators has been put forward to better define their growing role in the emerging smart grid

The Energy Networks Association published its recommendation for redefining DNOs as distribution system operators (DSOs) on 14 June, setting a milestone for the trade body’s Open Networks Project.
