MEPs vote down bid to thwart neonicotinoid ban

Members of the European Parliament have rejected an attempt to water down restrictions on three controversial pesticides

In a vote held on 22 June, only eight MEPs backed UK Conservative MEP Julie Girling’s objection to recent draft legislation that would ban the use of imidacloprid, clothianidin and thiamethoxam on all plants grown outdoors.
