Shale gas advocate to aid Gove

Environment secretary Michael Gove has picked a noted supporter of shale gas fracking as his parliamentary private secretary

Kevin Hollinrake has been described as parliament's most enthusiastic supporter of shale gas fracking.A keen advocate of shale gas development has been picked as an aide to the environment secretary.

Kevin Hollinrake revealed he had been picked as a parliamentary private secretary (PPS) to Michael Gove on 26 June. While Hollinrake’s junior position means that he is not formally part of the government, he will provide confidential advice and be Gove’s ‘eyes and ears’ in the Commons.
