Essex waste offences cost £175,000

Two Essex directors of a road freight and recycling firm have received among the highest fines yet against individuals for illegal dumping

Illegal storage of inert waste on two Essex farms has attracted total fines of £120,000, among the highest yet imposed on individuals.

The sentencing, at Snaresbrook Crown Court on 9 June, concerned two individuals with previous criminal convictions and their road freight company, PCS Recycling, for deliberate illegal waste tipping and storage at Baldwins Farm and Bush Farm near Upminster in Essex.
