Power distribution firms seek £79m for smart grid projects

Two distribution network operators (DNOs) are seeking approval to invest £79m in innovative technologies aimed at enhancing management of increasingly congested local distribution networks.

Energy regulator Ofgem opened consultation on the application from SP Energy Networks and UK Power Networks on 27 June.1
