UK deviating further away from Aarhus convention

UK’s changes to Aarhus costs rules have been criticised by the international compliance committee

The Aarhus Convention compliance committee published its draft statement on 27 July expressing its concern on UK action, which it believes is moving the country further away from the convention’s goals.

The committee’s comments mark a critical juncture in a long-running saga which dates back to 2010, when the Aarhus Convention’s compliance committee first said the UK was breaching its obligations.
