Caterpillar fined for diesel spill

The heavy plant manufacturer has been fined £7,500 for discharging 40,000 litres of oil into the Irish Sea

Although small, the sum is relatively steep for the province, where penalties for environmental offences tend to be lighter than the rest of the UK. It was one of the most serious incidents of pollution there in recent years.
