CGS: Plan for greener growth launched

The long-awaited Clean Growth Strategy has been unveiled by the government, to mixed reviews from green campaigners

Photograph: Tom Reeve/ENDSThe launch of the long-delayed Clean Growth Strategy (CGS) was greeted with measured enthusiasm by green campaigners, as much for what it says about government attitudes as it does about policy specifics.

Unveiled at the Olympic Park in London on 12 October, the strategy sets out the government’s direction of travel as it addresses its legal obligations under the Climate Change Act 2008.
