BEIS is tinkering with energy and climate policy levers with one eye on its carbon budgets and the other on energy security.

On 12 October, the department published a raft of documents to supplement the long-delayed Clean Growth Strategy, including a draft energy cap bill, proposals for carbon reporting, a review of gas security, a proposal for heat recovery and a response to the Committee on Climate Change’s report on the National Adaptation Plan.
