Lord Deben re-elected to chair Committee on Climate Change

The CCC has voted to extend Lord Deben’s leadership of the influential climate body and will be joined by economist Paul Johnson

Lord Deben returns as CCC chair. Photograph: Committee on Climate ChangeLord Deben has been reappointed as chair of the Committee on Climate Change (CCC), which provides independent advice to government and parliament on reducing greenhouse gas emissions and climate change mitigation.

His reelection, announced on 10 October, will extend his leadership of the CCC for a further five years, until September 2022. He has been head of the committee since 2012, replacing Lord Adair Turner, the influential body’s first chair.
