Industry emissions continue steady decline

The online database, produced under the 2003 Kyiv Protocol to the Aarhus Convention, details pollution and waste produced by industrial installations across the UK. However, it should be treated with caution: figures are only reported for individual plants when they cross a threshold – 100,000 tonnes per year in the case of CO2. So if a facility’s emissions dip below or above this threshold from year to year, it can distort the total.
