Environment Agency envisions the future for water

The EA has modelled five future scenarios exploring the implications for water resources and management

These are the questions the Environment Agency has sought to answer through an extensive futures research project.

The scenario-testing exercise aimed to explore the implications for managing water and the water environment in terms of national pressures and in different catchment types. It explored the impact of the findings on the public, manufacturing industries, the leisure sector, water and energy companies, and farming and fisheries.
