A farmer has been ordered to pay almost £5,000 after illegally storing and setting fire to waste on his land in Cleveland in north-east England.

Charles Pickering pleaded guilty to two waste offences at Teesside Magistrates’ Court on 10 November. He was handed a £3,000 fine and ordered to pay £1,729.44 in costs.
