Offshore licensing devolved to Wales under new conservation regulations

Revised regulations render responsibility for conservation and control over licensing in relation to protected species to Welsh government

The Conservation of Offshore Marine Habitats and Species regulations were published at the beginning of November. They implement the EU Habitats Directive 92/43/EEC and the EU Wild Birds Directive 2009/147/EC in relation to the UK offshore marine area.
