Cleve Hill giant solar farm unveiled to mixed response in Kent

Plans for the biggest commercial solar PV farm in the UK have been announced, but sun not shining yet as national permits needed

The 350 megawatt site near Graveney could power 110,000 homes a year, according to operators Hive Energy and Wirsol Energy, which co-launched the designs on 9 November.

The proposed solar farm (coupled with battery storage) would be built on 360-hectares of low-grade farmland at the edge of Whitstable and linked to the 630MW London Array offshore wind sub-station. 1
