DEFRA buried expert proposals for an independent environment committee

A comprehensive review of domestic legislation was shelved but could still provide useful lessons for post-Brexit policymaking

The recommendations were put to ministers in a detailed report two years ago, but have only just been made public thanks to the intervention of the Information Commissioner.
