The UN aviation agency has agreed criteria for sustainable biofuels while discussing details of a planned global emissions offsetting scheme in a closed meeting of its council, ENDS has learnt.
The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) announced plans last year for a global scheme, dubbed CORSIA, prompting the EU to extend a partial exemption from its emissions trading system (ETS).
