UK and Canada form alliance to phase out coal

The UK and Canada have launched a global alliance of countries and regions dedicated to phasing out coal power

Launched on 16 November at the UN climate talks in Bonn, France, Italy, the Netherlands and Denmark have already signed up to the Powering Past Coal Alliance, alongside Mexico and some US states. The alliance aims to have 50 signatories by the end of next year.
