EA chief admits England will miss 2027 water quality targets

England will miss legally binding 2027 water quality targets, according to Environment Agency (EA) chief executive James Bevan.

Bevan told MPs on the House of Commons Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (EFRA) committee that targets set under the Water Framework Directive (WFD) would not be met during an evidence session on the work of the EA, on 22 November.
