EA struggling with poorly performing legitimate waste businesses

While proliferation of illegal waste sites is leading to an increase in pollution, new EA figures show permitted sites are also a growing problem

The EA’s ‘regulated industry sector strategies’ set out targets and actions between 2016 and 2020 for 13 industries including power, chemicals production, landfill and hazardous waste.
