Researchers at Queen Mary’s University London, conducting the study for the Environment Agency (EA), found 1,264 historic coastal landfill sites in England and Wales that fall wholly or partially within tidal flood zone 3. This means that they have a 0.5% or higher annual probability of flooding from the sea.
