Environment Agency accepts air quality duties from DEFRA

Supervision of air quality monitoring contractors shifted from DEFRA to the Environment Agency on 1 April. Noise monitoring and mapping may follow

The transfer took place on 1 April, although discussions have been going on since last summer. Formal agreement was reached in March.
