Rules on radioactive scrap metal waste relaxed

The EA has adopted a new regulatory position on radioactive waste, removing the requirement on scrap metal companies to get a permit

According to a regulatory position statement published on 18 May, scrap metal businesses will not need a permit for the receipt, accumulation and disposal of radioactive waste as long as they comply with a number of requirements.
