Fracking given green light in North Yorkshire

North Yorkshire County Council has approved Third Energy’s application to hydraulically fracture shale for gas at Kirby Misperton

Of the 11 councillors on North Yorkshire County Council’s planning committee, seven voted to grant the company’s application to hydraulically fracture, test and produce gas from existing production facilities on 23 May after an emotional two-day hearing. The remaining four voted against.
