DEFRA headcount down two thirds in a decade

The environment department has one third of the core staff it did ten years ago, and still has to make substantial spending cuts

The figures are revealed in a Freedom of Information request, submitted by ENDS following concerns from former DEFRA employees about the department’s plummeting capacity.
