Brexit 'must not weaken' UK climate policy goals

The UK’s climate ambitions should not be affected by leaving the EU, says the CCC, although Brexit will complicate the delivery process

This is the stand-out conclusion of a briefing published by the Committee on Climate Change (CCC) on 13 October, which finds that the UK’s greenhouse gas reduction target set in the Climate Change Act 2008 and its associated carbon budgets “remain appropriate as part of a UK contribution to global efforts, including the Paris Agreement”.
