The two high-tech vans, received on 7 October, are stationed in Sale and Bridgewater but are deployable nationwide, on 24/7 standby. They will be an important asset for the EA in the event of flooding or a major industrial incident such as the Buncefield disaster. They will act as the body’s public face and help liaise with the emergency services.
