BEIS lowers capacity market auction volumes

Photograph: CentricaThe volume of guaranteed backup electricity capacity to be secured in the next round of capacity market auctions has been cut by the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS).

The move was announced in an open letter from business, energy and industrial strategy secretary Greg Clark and National Grid chief executive John Pettigrew dated 27 October.
