Senior environmental specialists are being sought for the construction of the HS2 high-speed rail link
The company behind the HS2 high-speed rail link is recruiting for several senior environmental roles.
HS2 Ltd has advertised for senior environment managers for the south area and for phase 2, and for a technical ecology specialist.
The 'area south' senior environment manager will be responsible for managing and leading the environmental design elements of the proposed railway corridor for the London-West Midlands route area section in accordance with organisational and sponsor requirements and policies, environmental commitments, environmental law and regulation.
The phase 2 senior environment manager will manage and lead the project's environmental assessment work, including associated assessments, for the hybrid bill for the proposed high-speed railway corridor from the West Midlands to Crewe.
The ecology technical specialist will develop ecological decision-making at the highest level contributing to the creation of approximately 1000 hectares of new habitats. Working within the broader environment team, they will be ensuring technical quality, specifications, standards and assurance for the ecology and biodiversity aspects of the HS2 programme.
HS2 accounts for over a third of the UK's transport infrastructure pipeline and more job opportunities are expected in the future.
