Shale gas exploration to go ahead in Nottinghamshire

IGas has been given the green light to explore for shale gas in Nottinghamshire but the approval does not include hydraulic fracturing at this stage

A company hoping to undertake hydraulic fracturing has been given the green light to explore for shale gas in Nottinghamshire.

Nottinghamshire County Council approved IGas’s plans to drill two exploratory wells on land off Springs Road in Misson, Bassetlaw, on 15 November, with seven councillors voting in favour of the application and four voting against.
