Scottish government approves 400MW pumped storage scheme

The Scottish government has approved a 400MW peak capacity pumped storage scheme in southern Scotland, amid a new surge in interest in the technology

Scottish ministers approved construction and operation of the £150m scheme at Glenmuckloch in Dumfries and Galloway on 29 November. The approval follows earlier clearance by Dumfries and Galloway Council.
