EU nature directives will not be revised

The European Commission has finally confirmed that the Birds or Habitats Directives are fit for purpose and will not be reopened

The announcement was made by EU environment commissioner Karmenu Vella on 7 December - six months after the commission’s own policy review found that the two nature directives were “fit for purpose”.
