DCLG plans changes to EIA rules

Planning rules in England are being amended as part of the government’s transposition of the revised EU Environmental Impact Assessment Directive

New rules must be in place by May 2017. Photograph: PixabayThe Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) is planning to make changes to environmental impact assessment (EIA) rules in England.

It launched a consultation on changes to both the town and country and major infrastructure planning regimes on 14 December.  The consultation introduces measures to transpose the EU’s revised EIA Directive.
