Changes to EIA rules on forestry, agriculture, water resources, land drainage and marine works are being planned by the UK government and devolved administrations

Changes to environmental impact assessment (EIA) rules on forestry, agriculture, water resources, land drainage and marine works are being planned by the UK government and the devolved administrations.

The amendments are being made to bring the regimes in line with the EU’s revised EIA Directive which aims to reduce the administrative burden on developers. Measures to implement the directive must be in place by 16 May 2017.
