Environment Agency to work more closely with HSE

The Health and Safety Executive’s triennial review has concluded that most of its functions are essential, but it should collaborate more with other regulators

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) will work more closely with the Environment Agency and could take over some of DECC’s regulatory functions following its triennial review.

The three-yearly review, undertaken by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), began last April.

Its final report, published on 9 January, concludes that most of the HSE’s functions are essential and should remain intact.
