DEFRA drops environmental account manager plan

The environment department has ended its trial for introducing single environmental account managers for complex developments

DEFRA has dropped its plan to introduce environmental account managers for complex developments.

The service would have put a single person in charge of overseeing the consent process for developers that need multiple permits from the Environment Agency, Natural England, the Forestry Commission and the Marine Management Organisation.

The idea grew out of the Penfold review of non-planning consents in 2010.
