ECHA hits 5% target for dossier compliance checks

More than two thirds of chemical registration dossiers were non-compliant again, despite repeated calls for improvements

The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) has met its target to check 5% of registration dossiers for high production volume chemicals by the end of 2013.

The dossiers were for chemicals registered before a 2010 deadline set by the EU REACH regulation.

Last year ECHA checked 733 dossiers up from 268 checked during 2012. Once again 68% of checks found non-compliant dossiers and the registrant was asked to make improvements.
