One year on and Green Deal stuck on runway

Green Deal uptake rates are now unlikely to reach significant levels without intervention. But policy uncertainties over both the Energy Company Obligation and Green Deal are further dampening confidence

The Green Deal domestic energy efficiency upgrade loan scheme is set to reach its first anniversary on 28 January. But DECC’s latest data on uptake have confirmed glacial progress throughout its first year, leaving the flagship policy largely ineffectual.
