UK wins as EU plumps for 40% carbon target for 2030

The European Commission’s energy and climate package has no binding renewable energy or energy efficiency targets, a decision the UK has welcomed.

The figure is the centrepiece of the commission’s long-awaited energy and climate package for 2030.1
