MPs call for PRN revamp

A parliamentary group has recommended ways to increase the quality of domestic recyclate and boost the value of UK waste.

A group of MPs have called for reform of the packaging recovery system and measures to increase the quality of domestic recyclate.

The Associate Parliamentary Sustainable Resource Group (APSRG) made the recommendations following a six-month inquiry into how the UK could get more value out of its waste.

Its final report, Exporting Opportunity, covers plastic, glass, paper and metal waste as well as refuse-derived fuels.1
