SEPA’s new growth duty is ‘no overnight sensation’

Jo Green, responsible for leading major change at Scotland’s environmental regulator, talks to ENDS about SEPA’s ambitious plans for the next few years

The Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) is gearing up for major changes to the way it operates and regulates.

Earlier this month the Scottish parliament approved new legislation which, when it is enacted in a few weeks’ time, will pave the way for a new regulatory framework and enforcement powers at Scotland’s environmental regulator.

The Better Regulation (Scotland) Bill is part of Scotland’s wider regulatory reform agenda, which began several years ago.
