Green Party bets all on anti-fracking stance

The party hopes its energy policies will see it win 10% of the vote in next month’s European election

The Green Party of England and Wales is hoping its anti-shale gas stance will triple its number of MEPs in this month’s European elections.

Launching the party’s manifesto on 28 April, the party’s leader, Natalie Bennett, said she was confident the party could secure 10.2% of the vote on 22 May. This would be enough to win six seats in the European Parliament, up from two now.
